3 Digital SLR Cameras Reviewed
Digital SLR Cameras used to be very expensive when compared to the same SLR camera that used film. That is still the case however today you get so much more for your DSLR dollar. For one with the passage of time the DSLR camera’s have gotten much cheaper and the technology has made them so much better. In the old days when they first came out you would push the shutter button and it would take a second to take a picture. Now its instant and you can take multiple pictures rapid fire if you wish to. Not to mention High Definition Video in many cases. In the beginning of Digital SLR Cameras it was not uncommon to run out of memory because the memory cards simply didn’t hold that much and they were very expensive but now as technology has progressed memory is very cheap and each card holds a lot of pictures or in some cases the camera will upload the pictures to the cloud on its own.
Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR with 18-55mm IS II Lens and EOS HD Movie Mode (Black)
This is a great Digital SLR Camera at a great price. This is about the entry-level Digital SLR camera but it’s truly the one I really love. Why, Well the Canon Rebel is the first SLR camera that I ever owned. It was a simple choice really it was the SLR camera that I had to use for work so when it came time to buy one for personal use why not by the same great camera that I used for work for home use. So I bought the film version of the Canon EOS Rebel. Fast Forward a few years and they come out with many iterations of the Rebel but in DSLR versions. So now this is one of the cameras I own but i happen to own both the film and the digital model.
Some of the features I love about the Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR are:
- 12.2 Mp CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor for good image quality and faster shooting.
- HD movie mode which is great on a budget camera at this level.
- ISO 100 to 6400
I really like this camera I am much more comfortable using it than any camera that I own. So that’s why. But some of the things I don’t like or think are necessary are the in camera HD video editing options those never seemed to do as good a job as I could do on my computer. Overall I like this camera and I would buy it again. BUY NOW
Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Double-Zoom Lens Kit with 18-55mm and 55-200mm DX Zoom Lenses (Black)
This Nikon D3100 Digital SLR is a very nice camera a little more high-end then the Canon Rebel listed above but at the same time it won’t break the bank. The great thing about the Nikon 3100 in this package is that it comes with two lenses. So it’s a great deal. In the Nikon D3100 14.2 MP Digital SLR Double Zoom Lens Kit you get both the 18-55 mm and the 55-200mm DX Zoom lenses. If you have used a DSLR before and then you start using a zoom lens it really opens your eyes to what is possible with these camera. With just adding another lens or a filter it truly changes the whole experience. The D3100 14.2 MP Digital SLR is a really great camera on its own even without the two lenses. This is truly a camera you can do great things with some of the features are.
- 14.2 MP DX format CMOS sensor
- Full 1080p HD video with full-time autofocus and sound
- 18-55 mm lens
- 55-200 mm lens
One of the features I love about this camera is just how many settings are possible to adjust on it. There is a button for everything. But, if you are just taking pictures of your kid at the beach or some vacation photos set it on automatic and forget it and you will get beautiful pictures every time. BUY NOW
Nikon D5100 16.2MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
The Nikon D5100 Digital SLR simply professional Grade. That is my best description of this camera. There are so many great things about the Nikon D5100 one of my favorite things about it though is the 3 inch Super Density Vari Angle LCD monitor. The first time I saw this I thought it was kind of gimmick but then actually using it to take pictures above a crowd with the monitor aimed down so I could see what I was shooting, that was the moment I realized just how great this was to have. Yet it’s so simple.
Other features of the D5100
- In Camera Special Effects Mode
- In Camera HDR
- ISO 100 – 6400 extended mode 100 – 25600
One of my favorite things about this camera is how it excels when there is a lot of detail or low light. Like sunlit days with a lot of shadow on your subject. With the HDR you can overcome this by using the D5100 which combines two exposures to create just the image you are looking for. You will love this camera. BUY NOW
These choices of Digital SLR cameras are all good ones they go from low-budget to higher budget and all of them will provide you with great shooting and ease of use no matter which one you chose. Now if you already have a Nikon or a Canon with some lenses stay with the same brand that way your lenses will be interchangeable. This will save you money in the long run. A few other things you might consider getting if this is a gift or maybe a gift for yourself. a Good Strap, an Extra Battery and maybe a Photography Book if you are new to the hobby.
