Indoor Bike Trainer Reviews

Indoor bike trainers are a really great option to get you off the couch and on your bike especially when the weathKurt Kinetic Road Machine er is terrible outside or your friends you ride with just can’t or don’t want to today. An indoor bike trainer is always ready to go for a ride even if it’s snowing outside and your friends can’t make it. Not to mention the fact you can ride your bike trainer and watch your favorite show on television or listen to music. Now I would rather go ride outside any day but if that is not an option my bike trainer is always there for me. If you are looking for an indoor bike trainer then you have come to the right place. I will talk about the different types of bike trainers on the market and let you know about the pros and cons of each different type. There are really three different types of indoor bike trainers on the market. Fluid Trainers, Mag Trainers, and Wind Trainers.

Fluid Trainers

Fluid Trainers are indoor cycling trainers that when you turn your pedals they spin a small turbine in a thick liquid. The harder you spin your pedals the harder it gets. Personally this is my favorite type of indoor cycling trainer. The reason I like it the best is because it is the quietest and the resistance is the smoothest and you can actually adjust the resistance pretty high so that it’s great for even high level cyclists. That’s not me but it might be you. Now not too long ago fluid trainers had a bad reputation. It really wasn’t if they would leak but when they would leak. You can understand how this would be bad if you had this in your living room. No one I know with a Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer has had a leakage problem since they came out with their new design and this includes thousands of miles ridden. Another downside of this type of trainer is the cost it’s a little more expensive than the others but I would gladly pay it for the quieter ride.

Wind Trainers

Wind Trainers are indoor trainers that spin a fan when you turn your pedals this causes wind resistance which is pretty smooth and the harder you pedal the more resistance there is. Wind Trainers are really great for those on a limited budget. They are the cheapest indoor cycling trainers on the market. You can get a great trainer that will last you a long time that will not break your budget. Not to mention the wind trainer is the simplest of the three types of trainers on the market. So less moving parts to break in the long run. The disadvantages of a wind trainer to me is simply the noise. Oh you can’t hear me I said the NOISE yes it can be that loud. So for some people this is not a problem but if you like to do other things while on your trainer like watch Television or listen to music it can be a problem.

Mag Trainers

Mag trainers are indoor cycling trainers that use the resistance of magnets to provide resistance on your ride. Some are adjustable only by getting off the bike and some have a cable that comes up to the handlebars. Some newer models use centrifugal force to change the position of the magnets to give a more normal ride I only recommend the latter two. Let’s face it if you have to get off the bike to constantly change things you won’t.

No Excuses Just Ride

No more excuses the weather doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if it’s midnight, if you want to go for a ride you can. You don’t have to step foot outside your door just put your bike on the trainer and go. You don’t need your riding buddies. But won’t they be surprised after the winter when they haven’t been riding and you come out this spring and your are already in shape. For me it’s always better to put a movie on and it helps to pass the time. Have fun.

Now Is The Best Time To Buy A New Barbecue Grill

This is the best time to buy a barbecue grill. There are so many options on the market with different types of grills at all Weber Genesis E-330 637-Square-Inch Grill price points that there really is something for everyone. Before if you wanted to buy¬† a grill you didn’t have much choice but now there are so many choices. Will it be a gas grill, or a charcoal grill, or even one of those new big green egg grills, I’m going to give you some different options and tell you what I like about each choice and hopefully you can find something that you like for yourself or a loved one.

Types of Barbecue Grills to Consider

There are a few different types of barbecue grill for you to consider if you are thinking of buying your first one or just replacing the old worn out one that you are currently using. The three main types of grill to consider are gas grills, charcoal grills, and the new style egg type grills. I have used both the gas grills and charcoal grills and I currently have one of each and use them both. I have no experience with the egg grill but I have many friends who swear by them and the food they cook is pretty fantastic.

Gas Grills

I love gas grills. My Weber like the one pictured above but mine is a little older and a little rustier is my go to grill. The reason I really like gas grills is the fact that you can come home late from work and turn it on and literally be cooking in ten minutes not to mention that they hold a steady temperature much like an oven. So yes I have cooked a pie in mine over thanksgiving. A gas barbecue grill is a great choice I couldn’t live without mine. Just don’t make the same mistake that I did when I bought mine. I decided to buy the grill and I ordered it online and the box came so I decided hey I will put this thing together and I will be eating steak in a couple hours. Well, you know how that goes, needless to say It took me more like four hours to put that Weber together but being the stubborn guy I am I still cooked that steak but I started it at 9 P.M.

Charcoal Grills

Grilling with charcoal really is how it all started. For me anyway and most of us probably we remember our dads teaching us how to barbecue on a charcoal grill in my case it was an old hand me down Weber Grill that had seen a few summers but still worked just fine. So when I grew up and started doing the grilling on my own it was a charcoal Weber that I bought. For one it’s simple and cheap and I could afford it in college. The thing I like about charcoal grills is it’s more of a process and almost a tradition and the food has to be done just right. Where a gas grill is set it and put on the right temp for so many minutes and it’s done just like your oven. The charcoal grill is the exact opposite you don’t know how hot the coals are and you have to keep a watch on it or you will burn your dinner. A charcoal grill is the perfect thing for a barbecue with friends over because you can all stand around and talk while you cook. Another nice thing about a charcoal grill is they are light so it’s easy to take it to the beach or the park in the back of your truck. One person can load it easily.

BIg Green Egg Type Grills

The Big Green Egg, I have never cooked on a big green egg before it is something I am considering though. I have a few friends that swear by this thing and I can’t argue the results. The food that comes out of this giant green egg is truly outstanding.
